[Environmental Safety Center] Forwarded Notice: Please continue to implement preventive measures for mosquito-borne infectious diseases such as dengue fever and chikungunya during the winter vacation, and strengthen the awareness and knowledge of epidemic prevention among faculty, staff, and students. Details are as follows.

Explanation of the official letter:

1. Handled in accordance with the Ministry of Education Letter No. 1152100007, dated January 8, 2026.

2. Although temperatures have recently dropped significantly, daytime temperatures remain relatively warm with occasional rainfall, which is still conducive to the breeding of vector mosquitoes. In addition, the number of imported dengue fever cases last year ranked as the third highest in the past six years, indicating a continued risk of imported cases. To prevent outbreaks and protect the health of faculty, staff, students, and the community, please strengthen the following preventive measures:

(1) Before the winter vacation, please plan the division of responsibility areas for mosquito-borne disease prevention on campus and identify available manpower. During the winter vacation, ensure the implementation of environmental inspections (especially in vacant land, idle spaces, and construction sites), elimination of breeding sources, and reduction of containers, and keep records accordingly.

(2) During the winter vacation, opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to travel abroad or visit relatives increase. Therefore, please strengthen health education promotion, including: taking anti-mosquito measures when traveling; conducting self-health monitoring for 14 days after returning from endemic countries; and if symptoms such as fever, headache, retro-orbital pain, muscle pain, joint pain, or rash occur, seeking medical attention promptly and proactively informing the physician of travel history to facilitate diagnosis and treatment.

3.
